    Hi Jordy (and others)!

I intend to create a webshop using woocommerce and am starting to think about images and how to handle them. I was wondering if the following scenario is possible.

In LR, I have a collection set “woocommerce” that has one collection per product.

WP/LR publishes “collection set” renaming all images into “collection name” (ie. product name) plus sequence number: princess-ring-01.jpg, princess-ring-02.jpg …

The sequence number is determined by the position of the image in the collection.

If an image already exists on the server, it gets replaced, allowing me to swap out one product shot against another.

I have only started to think about this, but so far, is that possible with WP/LR ?

    Thanks much!

    Hello Ditto ??

    Ok.

The sequence number is determined by the position of the image in the collection.

That you can do already with the File Naming, right? File naming is handled by LR but you can customize it. I guess that works the way you want (I am basically using the same pattern).

The plugin syncs. But it doesn’t replace image based on their filename. Filename is technically a random value that doesn’t mean much.

Well you can upload and update your images with LR and have them as products for WooCommerce. But I am not sure about the “replacing” part. You can use the module of WP/LR Sync to replace image though (in LR) and that would work.

    Hello Jordy!

Thanks for your reply! My best idea for the moment is to play around, and probably try to write a plugin to handle the image replacement part.

    Will report how it goes.

Dang! File Naming doesn’t offer me to select Collection Name, just Folder Name, and that’s the folder on my hard drive. Bad surprise of something that seemed obviously very useful.

Is this something you could possibly fix in the LR plugin ?

Mmm, it could be useful but it is actually not linked to the media or the metadata related to this media. Technically, I can understand why this is not available by default in Lightroom. Also, it will be very hard for me to add unfortunately, I would need to add a whole section full of settings for this ??
