    Hi,

    I’m using Events Manager with WPML.
    I’ve installed “Events Manager and WPML Compatibility” and included define(‘EM_WMPL_FORCE_RECURRENCES’,true); in wp-config.php but I can’t Enable “recurrence” in settings. I select “yes” and save but setting don’t save.

    Already tried reinstalling plugins.

    My goal is showing calendar in different languages but I DO NOT need to translate the events. Just show the calendar in different languages.
    Deactivating “Events Manager and WPML Compatibility” I can activate recurrence but calendar does not show in other languages.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance!

  • But if you deactivate both WPML Multilingual CMS and Events Manager / WPML Compatibility plugins you can save that option without a problem?

    That’s right.
    Actually if I disable Events Manager and WPML Compatibility and keep enable WPML Multilingual CMS I can enable recurrence.

    But without Events Manager and WPML Compatibility calendar only shows in default language, right?

    Any solution? I would need to decide if use your plugin or someone’s else calendar.
    thanks

    I wish I could be more help but because we’ve been unable to reproduce the issue it’s difficult to suggest a solution. The only thing I can suggest is to try re-installing the plugin, in case some kind of glitch has crept in…

    Well, It happened twice for me. First in the website I needed to install the calendar. And after in the testing site with a fresh WP install, twentytwelve theme and just calendar module and WPML.

    I can give you access to the testing site so you can see the issue.
    Please let me know your email so I can send details in private.

    I have the exact same issue. When I activate the “Events Manager and WPML Compatibility” I can’t save any changes in settings (either recurring events, nor other settings like archive options etc.). Also, when I try to add a location on an event page it doesn’t save the location.

    I’m reading more about these issues on other sites as well, so it’s weird that many people have this error and you can’t seem to reproduce it.

    @sanderjansma Which versions of WordPress, Events Manager, WPML and Events Manager and WPML Compatibility do you have?

    If you deactivate vents Manager and WPML Compatibility does that fix the problem?

    The deactivation of the Events Manager and WPML Compatibility does fix the problem.

    The website is currently running:
    – WordPress 3.9.1
    – Events Manager 5.5.3.1
    – Events Manager and WPML Compatibility 0.3

    As an update, when I try to save options I get the following error:
    Warning: Unknown: Input variables exceeded 1000. To increase the limit change max_input_vars in php.ini. in Unknown on line 0

    This could be the reason why you couldn’t reproduce the issue, since it might be a memory issue. Do you perhaps no more about this?

    I think you may be on to something there…

    If you have access to your php.ini file, try increasing the max_input_vars to something like 3000. Try adding / updating the first line below – if that doesn’t help add / edit the other two lines.

    max_input_vars = 3000
    suhosin.post.max_vars = 3000
    suhosin.request.max_vars = 3000

    You’ll need to restart your server for the new settings to be used.

    If you don’t have access to your php.ini file you’ll need to ask your hosting company nicely to increase max_input_vars for you ??

    Ok, this fixes the saving-issue!

    Hi sanderjansma,

    I had a similar problem but didn’t find a solution.
    Could you tell me if by changing max values now you can save RECURRENCES working in multi-languages with Events Manager and WPML Compatibility?

    Thanks!

    @ivansa If you have access to your PHP or server error logs it would be worth checking for error messages similar to those @sanderjansma got.

    If you see them, try the same fix.

    I have 10000 in all those three values.
    That not seems to be the problem.

    Do you see any error messages generated by WordPress / PHP in your server error logs?

    (@ivansa)

    No. I don’t get any error.
    As I said weeks ago I can give you access to the testing site so you can see the issue.
