• Hi, I like your plugin a lot, it helps me sorting my custom post types.

Recently I upgrades my website with multilingual functionality using the WPML plugin. However, reordering my posts works well for the main language, but not for the translations!

It seems like WPML makes a “virtual” category in the new language, that ReOrder doesn’t recognize. So the translated “virtual” category is only shown in the default order.

Could you please look into fixing this? I can share more details if needed!

I am not sure how WPML works, I use Polylang for my multi-lingual projects, which, along with WPML, is one of the WordPress recommended ways to do multi-lingual sites in addition to be free.

ReOrder Posts Within Categories is compatible with Polylang. So if yo haven’t started your project yet, I would suggest switching to Polylang.

Unfortunately I am too busy with work to look at WPML, understand its logic and fix the code.

Alternatively, if you have a good understanding of WordPress db queries, you could take a look at the queries being created by WPML to see why they are not returning your ordered post and send me the analysis. I could then try to fix it in the backend.

Note: this plugin hooks posts_where and posts_orderby to hook the custom ordering query.
