WPML duplicated post doesn't expire

I’m using this plugin in combination with WPML. When I duplicate/ copy a post to a different language it’s seems to also copy the expiration date. However the duplicated post doesn’t seem to expire, only the original does.
When I check the debug log it also shows only one found post on the expire time.
Doesn’t this plugin work with WPML, or have I missed a setting? Any help would be appreciated.
