WPML translation

Hi Magne,

I’ve never used WPML and I don’t have a license. However, they have a program that works with themes and plugins for compatibility. I just signed up for this program a few minutes ago. Hopefully I can test WPML compatibility at some point this week and give you an update.

Hi, I’m using this plugin with WPML and I had changed the translation using String Translation without problems. My configuration is:
Plugin version: 1.5.5
Woo version: 2.6.13
WPML version: 3.6.3 with WPML String Translation 2.5.2 (domain is yikes-inc-easy-custom-woocommerce-product-tabs)
WP version: 4.7.2

@sodapops82, are you using the latest version of WordPress and our plugin? Do you have any additional information on why String Translation is not working for you?

Hi!

I have all the plugins you list updated to the latest update. I do also find the domain yikes-inc-easy-custom-woocommerce-product-tabs in String Translation, but the only thing I can translate there are the strings written by the plugin authors, like: “There are no saved tabs. Add one!” or “Create and save tabs you can add to multiple products.” The name of I give the tabs doesn’t appear in the String Translation neither does the content I write. (Example: https://musikkforlagene.no/product/bjorn-kruse-chronotope/)

Understood. I’m not sure how WPML works, but I don’t think your custom tabs would be part of the String Translation (based on your response, it seems like only the calls that we wrap in ‘translation functions’ are a part of ‘string translation’).

I am still waiting to hear back from WPML about this.

@underlife82 – were you able to translate the title and content of your custom tabs? Or was String Translation only available for the “plugin” text (e.g. the messages, etc. in the admin screen)?

Today I’ve tried to translate the “Tabs” to other language but also got into the same trouble. In Strings Translation I only can translate “system” strings. What I really need to translate are the custom tabs. ??

What is interesting, I was searching through internet and found that your plugin is compatible. But i guess something has changed since then. https://wpml.org/2016/10/compatible-plugins-oct-2016/

Interesting. You said you translated everything through “String Translation” but the only thing I can translate are the Plugin General text; not the tabs itself.

I tried to search for any WPML settings but couldn’t find any.

So I guess I will just create new tabs in English and will add them manually to each product.

è un problema di interfaccia dell’edito WPML. Va abilitata l’interfaccia di traduzione nativa di WordPress

Solved (for me)
for translate the tabs you need to go in “WooCommerce Multilingual – Settings” and enable the Native WooCommerce product editing screen, not the WPML Translation Editor.
