[wpmlmanage] link only works once

    Hi guys,

    It seems the [wpmlmanage] link in newsletters only works once for a user. If they click it again after clearing their browser cache it no longer works and the user gets an “Authentification failed” message. Is this by design? And is there any way to make sure this link will always work, not just once?

    Yes it will only work once and will stop working if the user clears their browser cache and/or cookies.

    The link uses a session and/or cookie so if the browser cache is cleared, the session is cleared with it.

    Ok thanks for clearing this up. I guess there’s no way to work around this so the link will be permanently active?

    On another related question: which option is the most browser compatible / robust: cookie, session, or cookie + session. I’m not concerned about security, just want to minimise potential issues with older browsers etc

    We will see if there is a way to keep the link active.

    The best method is to use both cookie + session that way it has a fallback if the cookie doesn’t exist or the other way around.
