    Hi eef-ink,

The plugin will backup the entire network. It will only be usable by the network administrator.

Unfortunately, enabling individual backup of sites is extremely complex since there are files shared between blogs in the network, and ultimately during a restore you’d need the entire network anyway. So we don’t have such a feature.

    Regards,

    Jason

Could onlinebackup be put in the Network Admin tools and not show in each WPMU site? I don’t want my WPMU admins to be able to grab the whole file set. I actually don’t want them to be able to backup anything — that’s my role as admin. (They can Export their site and that’s fine.)

Ack, poor wording on my post — to clarify: I don’t want each site admin to have access to backup. Only the WPMU Network Admin.

    Hi Bransom,

We don’t support WPMU at all actually. The downloaded one. For WordPress 3.0 multisite we should work but provide limited support. But seems we don’t work as intended.

I put a bit of info here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/encryption-type-none-can-i-change-that?replies=9

Basically over next few weeks I will try to do the necessary changes so the plugin works exactly as you request – as that is how it should work. Just needs a lot of change to make it properly work (I’ve now properly looked at multisite code and our code ands it not as compatible as I thought). Multisite is a very different beast and more complex than first thought.

Ill update here when the work is done with some beta version you can try if willing. But as said if will take few weeks to finish.

    Regards,

    Jason

Hey Jason, thank you. Don’t feel pressure on my account to make MU work. I didn’t realize that you didn’t support it yet. It appears to have worked fine for me as I have moved a MU site from one domain service to another, including change of install directory tree. (heavy use of searchandreplace2.php as well, but that seems normal no matter how the database is backed up or dumped.)
    Cheers
