• Hello.
I’ve been trying this plugin in WPMU 3.0:
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/private-messages-for-wordpress/

It works fine on the main page, but on the other memberblogs on subdomains it throws an error when trying to send messages. It doesen’t say anything in the php error logs.

Has someone gotten the plugin mentioned above to work in WPMU?
Otherwise: does anyone know of a good alternative plugin for private messaging between WPMU users on their profiles or admin panels?

  • buddypress has PMs included, but the rest of it may be overkill depending on what else you need. You can turn most of the features off though.

Very good. I’ve been thinking a little bit about buddypress, just unsure if it is gonna interfere much with how things work in a plain wordpress site with themes and plugins and all. I guess I just need a little reassurance. ??

By the way, do u know if it’s possible to limit the inbox size for basic and full members of a site, say f.ex. 50 messages for contributors and 1000 messages for authors?

I’m also wondering of buddypress has a readily available front-end publishing capability a’la TDO Miniforms, or will I need to continue using a plugin like that? Just asking cause you seem to know a bit about everything. ??

    – you’ll need to add some buddypress files to your current theme
    – dunno about any built-in limits ??
    – no front end posting currently, so tDO it is.

Fro deeper bits, might wanna hit up the buddypress forums. Smart people in there.

I also have some brain space saved for 80’s tv show theme song lyrics. You know, just in case. ??
