Write and send the newsletter via e-mail

I’m working on a site for a friend author Aunt. She’s older and we’re hoping to make things more simple for her, is there away she can send a newsletter just by sending out an e-mail? I know I can configure WordPress to accept posts via e-mail, so I was thinking as a work around, maybe setting up a “Newsletter” post category she could send to and then have MailPoet do an automatic new post alert.
