• Hi Team
As I am trying to step away from my current LMS, I am testing some different LMS and in general I really like Tutor LMS. But before I buy the Pro Version, I want to test everything which is possible in the free version.
The way Elementor is implemented in Tutor LMS is quite cumbersome. For any other LMS Plugin I can just activate Elementor for that CPT and asign a template from the Theme Builder, and that’s it.
After reading the documentation I at least found out how to use a course template, and I am okay with some of the quirks your addon has. E.g. changing an icon for the widgets benefits, materials etc. totally messes up the layout, those icons are super huge and the size can not be changed to small again.
I am okay with that for now and don’t use the icons at all. I also found my way around listing the benefits in 2 columns with custom CSS. But IMHO the widget should offer the columns be default.

What I can’t get to work is the review widget. Writing a review doesn’t work, because the star rating is not working at all in the widget. Same for editing an existing review.
I wondered if that is an issue with one of my other plugins I am using and/or my theme (Astra). Therefore I set up a test site where Tutor Starter is active as theme and only the necessary plugins are installed.
The issue is the same, the star rating can’t be modified. So it is not my theme or other plugins causing this, it seems to be a bug inside your addon.

Btw. if I go to the browser inspector, it throws this error:
DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for https://tutor-test.cg-tutorials.pro/wp-content/plugins/tutor/assets/packages/plyr/plyr.polyfilled.min.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

This comes from the Tutor plugin itself, and as I am no developer and have no clue what that means, I was wondering if that could have something to do with the issues of the Tutor LMS Elementor Addons. As both addons are developed by you, I thought I might mention that error, though it comes from Tutor LMS and not the Tutor LMS Elementor Addon.

I would really appreciate your help. The other quirks aren’t a deal breaker for me, but the review bug is.

    Thanks in advance

    Christina

Another really major issue I just discovered.

I didn’t set a curriculum for the first tests. Now I did, and as soon as that widget is on the page, it totally messes up the layout. I have two columns, a larger one on the left with the main content and one with the enrolment box, which is pulled up (Udemy style), but it doesn’t matter if I set a negative margin for the right column or no margin at all, the whole column just disappears.

Could you please, please fix those 2 major issues (Reviews and Curriculum) very soon?

    Thanks, Christina

Hi there, I don’t think so. I run two websites with Tutor LMS. And both are performing great since long. It seems like you are facing some compatibility issue with any other plugin. I faced once, and contacted their tech support team, and they wonderfully solved my problems within a few days. You can reach them as well.

Thanks for your reply, but like I mentioned above: on the test site are only the plugins installed which are absolutely necessary to use Tutor LMS with Elementor. So, if there is an compatibility issue it is between Tutor LMS, Tutor LMS Elementor Addon and Elementor.
And I am reaching out to them here, because I guess other people have similar issues and are interested in the solution.

    Hello @grumby66!

I have double checked on our side not found a rating issue, rating will come dynamically. You can just edit the style with elementor.
And, The plyr.polyfilled.min.js.map file not a loading issue, in your server somehow the file not loading so it shows this.

And, the curriculum section widget we will update this plugin ASAP.Now, You can use course content instead of the course curriculum.

    Thank you!

    Hi,
    thanks for the reply.
In the course content there is stuff that doesn’t fit

For the rating: I have tried with different browser on different machines, and it does not work.
Yes, I can style the rating, that is not my problem.
I will delete the curriculum so you can enroll in the test course on the
test site I have set up (https://tutor-test.cg-tutorials.pro/courses/test-course-01/) and register, please try writing a review. The stars can not be clicked, so nobody is able to write a review.
When I deactivate the Tutor LMS Elementor Addons the Reviews work. But when I then activate the addon again, I can not edit that review from the course page. Editing works from the dashboard, but writing a review in the dashboard, I didn’t find how to do it.

Please have a look at that issue.

    Thanks, Christina

Well, that was an “interesting” experience with a customer service. And not in a good way. I am moving on to Learndash.
