Write in two languages

  • Hello!

    I know this question has been asked many times, but I just can’t seem to make it work. I have an English wordpress installation and I would like to be able to write in English, in Russian, and in Japanese in my posts. I do not care at all about translation. (I do not want ANY translation plugin) I just want to be able to write in these three languages, just like I do in my emails…
    What happens now is that as soon as i publish my posts, everything that was in Russian or Japanese turns into ???????

    I did try this advised by moshu, but it didn’t work.
    edit the wp-config.php file.
    Comment out the two lines:

    define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);
    define(‘DB_COLLATE’, ”);
    Put // in front of both lines:

    //define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);
    //define(‘DB_COLLATE’, ”);

    Could any one help me?

  • I also tried on a WP 2.2.1 (upgraded from earlier versions) 5 minutes ago: wrote in English, Hungarian, Russian and (copied) Japanese into the same post. Everyting is showing up correctly.

    Hello Thank you Moshu!

    I retried it, and the posts I had written before changing it still had the ????, so I tried writting a new post using Japanses and Russian, and it worked fine!
