I am a freelance writer with a ton of links over my career. I have portfolios on third-party websites, but I want to make a nicer looking one on my website. Right now, it’s just a long list of links that I’ve been updating over the years. I am trying to find a plugin to imports links from the sites I write for and pull the image and description and displays them in a grid/gallery style. Is there a link aggregator or curator plugin that lets you search for your own content? I know something of the sort exists because the portfolio sites I use have them, but I can’t seem to find it on my own – the plugins are either solely link- or photo-based.

I wonder if you can give an example of this.

    Hi Steven,

Here is one of the sites I use: https://www.authory.com/taylaholman

How that site works is that once I import an article from a particular source, it crawls the site for other articles I wrote and then backs them up to that site (Authory). So even if the original site goes down, I still have a copy of the article.

What I’m hoping to do with my portfolio is to automate importing articles from a particular source that have my byline. So for example, if I wanted to aggregate all of my articles from Barton Associates, I’m wondering if there is a plugin that would essentially let me put in the URL and enter a search string, I guess, for my name and import the articles with at least the dates and titles. I hope that makes sense!

    1.)
The way Authory crawls content is to let users add each sources “manually” and import each content source with the API provided by the corresponding source.

There is not anything similar on www.ads-software.com plug-in directory, as far as I’m aware of, unless Authory itself has a plug-in published in the directory, which I think it does not.

    2.)
However, there is a workaround that may accomplish what you’re trying to do.

If you look at this help & support page from Authory:
    https://help.authory.com/en/articles/2619791-can-i-embed-my-authory-page-on-my-homepage-blog

They support embedding using RSS feeds.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS

So in your case, RSS feed URLs will be the following:

    Content from all sources:
    https://authory.com/taylaholman/rss

    Content from only bartonassociates.com
    https://authory.com/taylaholman/rss?source=bartonassociates.com

Then, to display the RSS feed in a Page of WP or to import the content automatically as Posts of WP site, you can use relevant RSS plug-ins by searching for “rss autoblog” in the plug-in directory:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/rss+autoblog/

Thank you so much, Steven! This was driving me crazy for several days and it honestly did not occur to me to use RSS feeds (I didn’t know they were still a thing in 2022). I feel so silly for not thinking of that sooner. I did a test using the Barton Associates RSS and it worked perfectly. My portfolio page looks so much nicer now with this setup. I really appreciate your help, I cannot thank you enough!
