• Hi All, This may be something simple but i’ve downloaded a theme with 4 pages and want to have 2 or 3 pages that i can write posts on… can i do this ? I’ve added a test post but i can’t see where it gives me the option to post it on a different page ??

    Any ideas ?

    Many thanks in advance
    Michelle

  • No, there is nothing like that. All your posts (as in every normal blogging tool) go to your main (aka index) page.

Learn about the tool your are using. You can NOT define wher a post “go”.

However, you can exclude posts in certain categories to be displayed on your main/home page – by using a plugin.
    More about plugins: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Plugins
One that helps you to display or not to display posts:
    https://ryowebsite.com/?p=46

The posts in the categories excluded from the home page will be visible only when you click on the category’s name in your menu.
Furthermore, you can customize the look of the category archives by using Category Templates > see: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Category_Templates

In general, the Codex is your best friend… spend some time reading it.

What is meant by “Learn about the tool you are using?” Isn’t that what he is doing by asking questions here?
And this would be a great plugin to have. It would make my page design much easier for my users. Hopefully, someone will come up with this. It’s been asked for a few times.

By “learn the tool you are using” I meant to read the online manual and get familiar with the script (=tool) you are using – WP. Learn its features and capabilities and, understand and use them. Use it to your advantage… instead of forcing it to do things in an “un-natural” way and asking questions that were answered zillion times.
    Now happy?
