• Hello,

I’m preparing a website by wordpress.
In my website, all visitors can register and become an author.
    But there is a problem.
Due to security reasons, I prefer they don’t have access to the admin panel (I mean wp-admin folder)

Is there a way to send articles without access to that folder?

    Thank you,
    J.D

  • Authors will see a stripped down Admin / Dashboard – all of the options they don’t have permissions to go away.

Make a new user and give them author status then log out then back in as author and you will see a reduced function Dashboard.

You can also have the Posts sent by email – not sure what happens to formatting.

Programs like Windows Live Writer let you write Posts on your PC then upload the Post – except that WLW logs in and the user sees the Dashboard that they would normally see.

    See here:

Personally I think it’s a bigger risk to enable remote posting than to have users with restricted rights in the installation, but I’ll leave that up to you ??
