    Hi,

The Cookies banner is fine in the right language (French).

But when we click on the “Politique des témoins” we end up with English text?

I think this as something to do with the fact that the theme was in English and translated directly into French by hand. But still the banner is in the right language.

    Can we fix this?

    Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @martinpineault,

Complianz will use the Site Language that you configure under Settings -> General in WordPress as the language for your Cookie Policy, do you have this set to the desired language already?

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi Jarnovos,

Yes, language was “French Canadian”, I have tried “French” but still the page generated for Cookies Policy is still in English.

Each time I change language, I do the Update the page in Document Wizard.

    Thank you.

    Hi @martinpineault,

After switching the language in the WordPress General Settings, please also navigate to Dashboard -> Updates in the left-hand menu, and scroll down the page until you see the “Update translations” button.

Click it, and this will let WordPress download the latest translation files. I suspect that this might be the reason for the behavior you describe.

Just to add; updating the page in the Wizard isn’t necessary for this purpose, if you switch the Site Language, the document will switch accordingly (provided that you have up-to-date translation files for this language).

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos,

I don’t have this “Update translations” button because I’m in a multi-site WP. But the Admin console is uptodate.

I think it has something to do with the plugin TranslatePress (see picture).

It is  currently in “English (Canada)” (because the original theme was in English), but if I try to change it to “French (Canada)”, I got this warning.

So I did what they say about the “default flag” but nothing changed.

    Thank you.

    Hi @martinpineault,

I can’t advise on TranslatePress-specific settings, but when I view your Legal Document, its’ language is set to en-CA at the moment. And in that case, it seems expected behavior that the document is being displayed in English.

Typically; you would create a new, translated version of the page in the desired language with your multi-language plugin (at least with PolyLang/WPML), so that it uses the desired language for that page specifically.

I’d say that TranslatePress support would be better equipped to help you with the configuration in their plugin.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos

Where do you see the that my Legal Document is set to en-CA?

When I open the page in the editor, then language is correct. So I fix its state to stop the sync. Now the page is in French. Next update, I would play with its state to refresh it.

    Thank you.

    Hi @martinpineault,

I saw “translatepress-en_CA” as a class in the <body> of the page, so that seemed to indicate that the page wasn’t set to use the French translations.

In any case, I’m glad to hear that you’ve addressed the behavior!

    Kind regards, Jarno
