    Hi,

I don’t know when this happened, but our website is showing wrong dates.

All events are between June 7 and 9, 2024. Already in the single event page administration it shows the wrong date below the fields where to type the start and end date and time. I can change days with no result. If I change the month to July, it shows July 29.

I was reading about potential problems using cache plugins. I use WP Fastest Cache and already followed your guide, but it doesn’t help.

Also it was working without a problem, at least until December 28, 2023. I have a registration email showing the correct dates. Later emails were showing June 29.

    Regards,

    Tom

I was checking the dates of updates of plugins. The only plugin which has been updated on or after December 28 is Shield Security.

I was deactivating Shield Security with no change.

All the plugins are like they were before December 28, also all setting. I have been on vacation and did not touch the website at all.

    Hi tom_on_wheels

The webpage you listed is still being cached. If you look at the html (‘View Page Source’ in your browser) and look at the last line you will see…

<!-- WP Fastest Cache file was created in 0.486947059631 seconds, on 09-01-24 20:54:42 -->

Its probably best to disable caching while you are debugging this.

That‘s right. I activated the cache again after the issue still existed when turning it off.

    Hi @tom_on_wheels,

Could you please share a screenshot from one of the event in your backend? I want to see the start date and compare it to what you have in frontend.

Note that In order for The Events Calendar to work properly, you must use a location-based timezone and avoid using UTC offsets.?Using UTC offsets?can cause problems?with Daylight Saving Time, event imports, and event data handling.

    See: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/working-with-time-zones/

Do you confirm that you’re using a location-based timezone?

For me to understand and learn more about your setup, could you provide the following version of the following?

    1. PHP
    2. WordPress
    3. The Events Calendar
    4. Theme and Version

Please do not share any credentials, this is for us to follow the WordPress Forum Guidelines.

    Hi Atousa,

    Time zone is Berlin/Europe.

Start date is June 7 at 1pm, end is June 9 at 11 am. End date is displayed correctly.

    1. PHP 8.0.30
    2. WordPress 6.4.2
    3. The Events Calendar 6.29
    4. Theme and Version Enfold 5.6.8

    Hi @tom_on_wheels,

Currently, we do not yet fully support PHP 8.1 and above, but rest assured that we are working towards it. We appreciate any error reports which can help us fix them. While we are working to make our products compatible, if you have the possibility, please downgrade the PHP version to 8.0.

I suspect there’s a conflict that’s causing the issue here. It would be good to test for conflicts. Could you follow the following steps?

    1. Deactivate all other plugins (including the caching plugin) except for The Events Calendar Plugins.
    2. Switching to the Default theme.

Please read the Testing for Conflicts article before doing anything.

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

    Hi,

PHP was 8.0.29. Issues already existed with this version.

As written before I was deactivating all other plugins with no change.

I downgraded PHP to 8.0 (8.0.30). No change.

I was restoring to a backup of December 21. The issue occurred again. The issue definitely didn’t exist before December 29.

Could it be that there is an issue with the change of years January 1?

So now I have the version of December 21 showing the same problem.

Regarding your advice to use a staging server:

I use WP Staging. But this issue couldn’t be avoided due to it obviously happened without an update. Website was just running…

Question by a non-programmer: if something would be wrong in PHP or so all dates in TEC might be not correct? But it is the start date only.

I found a post by someone having the same problem with “29”

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/event-appearing-in-wrong-date-in-calendar-and-home-page/

I don’t have the SiteGround plugin, but also “29” displayed instead of the real numbers

    Hi @tom_on_wheels

    Thanks for your response.

Does the issue persist on your staging site as well? If so, please try to activate only The Events Calendar plugin and WP’s 2020 theme, and see if that makes a difference.

If that doesn’t help, please check if there are other Must-Use plugins activated on your staging site. In addition, have you tried checking if you have server-side caching that is/are active on your site? If so, please try deactivating it temporarily and see if that helps.

Let me know how it goes.

I found the mistake. There was a “29” in date without year format in Events Calendar settings. How this happened is not clear to me. I am the only administrator and I didn’t touch the backend after December 21. Until December 28 everything was okay.
