I attempted to write backups to a directory outside of httpdocs and within httpdocs, but each time it wrote files to /httpdocs/wp-content/updraft. I tested both directories and both showed as writable by Updraft.

Backups are only partial: The backup attempt has finished, apparently unsuccessfully (Nov 11 06:32:05)

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling as well as deleting the backup directory above and the plugin directory.

I also cleared all caches multiple times. I’m using w3 total cache.

    Hi,

By default UpdraftPlus saves the backup to “wp-content/updraft” folder. You can only place the backup within the “wp-content” of your WordPress install.

    Thanks,

The backup will not finish. Any ideas on that? I am writing to /wp-content/updraft. If you need logs I can send, but how to send without making the file public?

For security reasons, please consider allowing backups to be saved anywhere including outside of http. If not, consider indicating in plugin that the target directory needs to be within /wp-content.

    Hi,

Yes, can you send us copy of the backup log?
Sending the log here should be safe as we always ask that to users here.

    Thanks,
    Bryle
