• Hallo,

I get a weird behaviour, when I change the permalink structure from ugly default setting to /%postname%/.

This is what happens: In the footer of the site (https://mtpt.de/) is a link to the imprint. Eversince I changed the permalink structure wordpress gets confused. It generates the right link (https://mtpt.de/impressum), but it displays the wrong page.

The thing is, I’ve got the same site set up for testing purposes under https://mtpt.de/TESTING. You need a login to open that page. Everything works fine there.

Since I changed the permalink structure on mtpt.de, it shows the right url in the adressbar and in the code, but the content that is displayed is from the imprint page of the TESTING-site, respectively the login form to the TESTING-site.

I tried deleting the .htacces-file and played around with the settings, but nothing worked.

    Does anybody have an idea?

    Cheers

  • The link /impressum is working fine, but it asks for login details. If you get something else, clear caches and cookies and try again, use a different browser or a different machine.

I know, that’s the weird part.

The url in the adressbar is correct, the page which is displayed is not. The login is for the TESTING-site and shouldn’t appear at all.

I’ve cleared cache and cookies a hundred times. Sorry for not mentioning earler.

    It’s very funky.

Revert to Twenty Twelve theme (with all plugins, if any, deactivated) and see if the problem persists.

I did it and still the wrong page. ??

Thanx for helping, by the way. ??

As you are just starting over with not much content, why not consider deleting everything (WP install) and reinstall?

I thought about that, but I hoped there was another, a little less unpleasant way. ??

I’ll see if I find some time to do it during the week, and call it a day for now. Thanxalot for your assistance.

I’ll post, if it worked or not.
