Wrong page shows up

  • I am a newbie here. I installed WP, then changed themes, and have been playing around with appearance. Under my main menu I have three pages: Home, About me, and Contact. Home and Contact are fine, but when I use the menu for About me I get a post from a sidebar menu. But when I go to Dashboard I can see the correct page, which is About me. I even deleted the Main menu and re-installed it, but the same problem shows up. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? On a different note, I set up a sidebar menu. I now have tabs AND dropdown menus. I’d like just one. This is a minor issue, but if anyone has advice on that I would appreciate it. My site is https://www.bothwellfineart.com. Thanks.

  • Hey. Just a few questions regarding your problem:

    The “About Me” link is currently linking to: https://www.bothwellfineart.com/about-joseph-bothwell/. Is this the incorrect URL or did you solve this problem?

    How did you set up your main and sidebar menus? Was it through Appearance->Menus?

    Also, did you get your theme from the www.ads-software.com theme repository or is it a premium theme that you paid for?

    I have not corrected the problem. While the code seems to show that it links to the proper page, in fact what comes up is not about me but the first page of my new acquisitions category, currently showing a Japanese print.

    I am currently using the Small Business Lite theme. Originally I had the twenty-twelve theme but clicked the change theme selection when I realized I had made a bad choice, and selected this theme. So I am a bit unsure whether this was from the theme repository or not. It was free.

    As for my menus, the main menu was set up by moving pages from the page memory to the main menu under the menu selection under themes on the left side of the dashboard. I forget now how I created the sidebar menu, but those are the categories from my posts.

    As a backstory, I am an art person with no IT experience trying to figure out how to do this on the cheap. It is confusing, but I am confident I can fix this. And I really, really appreciate all of your help. Thank you.

    The theme, SmallBiz Dynamic Lite, is not from www.ads-software.com repository. You probably downloaded it from https://www.expand2web.com/
