    Hello,

I am a blogger and podcaster from Spain, and I have been using your fantastic plugin for five months. It works great and I would like to thank you, great job!

I have a issue, with the following error message at the top of the dashboard:
“The Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin requires PHP 5.5 or later. Please upgrade your PHP version or deactivate the plugin..”
This problem prevents the plugin from working. Currently the feed doesn’t work, so the subscribers cannot download any episode.

I have checked out my server information, and my current PHP version is 5.5.36. I believe it might be a problem in the latest 1.16.1 version of the plugin.

Any help would be highly appreciated

    Thank you

  • Hi there,

Thank you for using Seriously Simple Podcasting.

This is a warning message to use PHP 5.6 or higher since the latest update only supports a higher PHP version than 5.5

To solve this issue, please can you contact your hosting provider to change your PHP version to 5.6 or higher. This should solve your issue.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. I guess you are saying that the error message is a kind of misleading, because it says “… requires PHP 5.5 or later”, and my hosting actually has “php 5.5 o later”.

Just to be clear: is there an error in the warning message?. Should it say “PHP 5.6” instead the actual “PHP 5.5”?

    Thank you very much
