wrong thumbnails everywhere

  • On my news website built on genesis framework with news child theme, I have used like button of facebook. But whenever user shares or likes the post, then that post shows on his own fb profile. thats cool.

    but the image along with the post is always wrong. Plus, when I copy the link of a post and publish it to my fan page on Fb, then also all the images on the website gets fetched and the wrong one appears in the published link.

    I use maxcdn as my cdn and also use wp-total cache. I have also installed facebook open graph protocol and a plugin “fix facebook like” but no vein.

  • You want to become familiar with “Open Graph Protocol” which will address these concerns.

    Basically, you can homogenize your content through the social networks. This would include images that you want to appear on the links, etc.

    Install WordPress SEO by Yoast (plugin), it automatically adds a OG meta to your header. Also, it might get messed up if you’re using that with W3 Total Cache.
