Hi there! I dont know if this is the right place to write but there is a problem with auto-transalted texts in Bulgarian when i install WC on WP with bulgarian langugage as main.

The problem is with the Cart button [proceed to checkout] it is translated as: [приключване на поръчката] which in bulgarian has kinda double meaning and some of our clients understand it as [finish the order] and they get stressed because they havent wrote their shipping adress yet. It would be much better to be written [ към приключване на поръчката] or something else. I have no contact with the team who is doing the bulgarain transalation but i would be happy if they see this misunderstanding. this transaltion is certanly not clear for most of the customers we have.

    Thanks!

  • Hi @lesi2000

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that the translated string Proceed to Checkout on the Cart page, приключване на поръчката has a double meaning and some of your clients understand it as Finish the order, correct?

WooCommerce is already translated into a few languages and does come translation-ready out of the box. All that’s needed is a translation file for your language.

There are several methods to create a translation, most of which are outlined in the WordPress Codex. In most cases you can contribute to the project on translate.www.ads-software.com. For creating custom translations:

You can read more about that here: Translating WooCommerce

In addition, kindly be informed that WooCommerce is only 56% translated to Bulgarian, hence, there is a big chance that some text strings are not yet translated completely or accurately.

Furthermore, we maintain translations at?our project on GlotPress. If you want to contribute translated strings to your language or wish to start a new translation, register at www.ads-software.com?and start translating.

    Hope this helps!

Hi and thank you for your reply.

I usually transalate my sites with poedit as most of the plugins are not translated in bulgarian (i mean only strings visible on the customer side not on the admin.) however the interesting thing is that i cannot find the string for proceed to checkout so i cant translate it. So far i translate only the theme files in the /lang directory. Do i need to look for these strings somewhere else?

    Thanks!

    Hello @lesi2000,

I was able to find that string on my test site using Loco Translate.

If you can’t find the string in the WooCommerce files, then perhaps it’s coming from your theme.

If you need more assistance with this, I suggest you reach out to the author of the translation plugin you’re using.

    Hope this helps!

The thing is that i CAN find the string in the woo files. But when i translate it nothing appears.

    Hi @lesi2000

Thanks for providing further information about your issue here.

I understand that even after translating the text string, the translation does not appear on front-end, correct?

For us to investigate this further, can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

Let us know how it goes!
