Hello, for some reason this website link shown, appears to have two sitemap URLs. The one that I have in my txt file in Tools and jetpack, is …sitemap.xml, but when I go to the URL it shows a sitemap-1.xml (Somehow search engines are going off of that url instead of sitemap.xml)

Do you know if a way I can ensure that Yoast is using the right URL? This is the first time this has happened to me and my client’s images are not showing when links are shared and has had very little traffic.

I have tried to update the .txt file manually with sitemap-1.xml, but there are no changes.

If there is any information you can provide to help me resolve this I would appreciate it. Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @olealboy47

The Yoast SEO sitemap should generate under the /sitemap_index.xml URL. We do see it is loading here – https://silispro.com/rellyzworld/sitemap_index.xml

But it’s strange. One of the functions of the Yoast SEO sitemap should be that it would redirect from /sitemap.xml automatically to /sitemap_index.xml.

Could you check if you have any other plugins (e.g. Jetpack) that are generating their own sitemap and if you temporarily disable it, that it fixes the issue and correctly redirects to the Yoast sitemap?

Hello thank you for your quick reply. I was able to manually update the sitemap url in the tools editor area of Yoast as you suggested to end with: /sitemap_index.xml and it seams to be working nicely now. I am able to see the “Page, Posts, Landing Pages & Categories” and my client’s images are showing up when I share their links.

Since the functions I was missing were restored, I didn’t have to turn of the Jet Pack plugin.

Thank you very much!! Have a wonderful day.
