Wrong user role assigned

I created a new user role called Sub-Admin with your plugin. This user role has permission to create new members. In the settings I have set that all new members should automatically receive the role XYZ. If I now create a new member, it will have the role XYZ in your plugin. But in the elementary WordPress user management, the new member gets the subscription role but not the XYZ role. What can I do so that the new user is assigned the XYZ role in the WordPress user management and not the subscription role?
