Wrong variation issue when choosing first variation on product page

Hi, I need some help…I have a Flag website I am building that is using WooCommerce for it’s shopping cart. When someone goes to a product page they get a couple of dropdown boxes (What State flag they want, Where the product is coming from, (US/Overseas) , the material used (Polyester or Nylon), and the size of the flag (2×3, 3×5, 4×6, etc).

Each product (ex state flags) has a product image assigned to it. Each variation in the cart has an image assigned to it as well (ex: Florida has the Florida Flag). When someone selects the state, origin, material, and then size, it should change from the default product image to the state flag. This isn’t happening.

When someone selects a variation for the first time on a product, it is switching from the product image flag to a random flag. if I add the flag to the shopping cart, the correct image is showing up in the shopping cart. if I change the variation to another variation and then back again, it shows the correct flag. it is just when it goes from the product image to the first variation of the product.
