WS_FTP and WP files

  • Hi all,

    sorry, I know this does not directly deal with WP, but I tried the WS-FTP help, get no answer, and need help pretty quick.

    I noticed that when I download WP files from the server back to my PC the .php files will be LARGER in size than on the server, while the pure binary files like pictures do not change.

    This is troubling me, I see no difference while looking at the file in notepad, but I also can’t imagine why a file would grow on download. When I upload it back to the server, it REDUCES size again.

    I never before noticed this behaviour, does anyone have an explanation?
