After activating the Facebook plugin on my locally installed version of WordPress (via MAMP), I got a “The 127.0.0.1 page isn’t working” error.

    I’ve tried:
    + renaming the plugins folder
    + replacing the wp-admin and wp-includes folders
+ deactivating all plugins via myPHPadmin (“a:0:{}” in wp-options/active-plugins)

I get a blank page on my local URL and the error (above) when I try to access my WP dashboard.

  • Hey @ajarmedia,

Check your PHP error logs and/or enable WP_DEBUG to see if there’s a fatal PHP error and trace it back to its origin.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks. Got some results from the debug. Just have to decide if I want to spend time resolving this issue, or if it will just be less time to recreate the website from scratch.

After all this trouble, the Facebook plugin folder appeared in the Plugins folder, and I was able to delete it, which got me on track to get the website back up. Thank you!
