Recently started getting a White Screen Of Death when listing all docs: //example.com/docs

The BuddyPress Docs repository holds about 40 documents, but some have up to 30 attachments.

There is no problem when selecting a group, and then selecting the group docs: //example.com/groups/my-group/docs/ Also, there are no resource limit errors reported on the server.

superpotion – It’s possible that it’s linked to this: https://commonsinabox.org/groups/help-support/forum/topic/wiki-is-slow-to-load/ If possible, perhaps you could disable attachments temporarily to narrow things down (Dashboard > BuddyPress Docs > Settings)

Thanks Boone – I was able to get the ‘all docs’ listing after I moved the site to a more powerful server.

It still took a while to load and, yes, implementing the solution as outlined in the commonsinabox.org article improved the load times significantly.

I cannot disable attachments because of the way we use Buddypress Docs – The document store holds mainly file attachments, and each Buddypress Doc is used like a category: i.e. we create a Buddypress Doc, say, ‘HR forms’ and the attach a number of PDFs like ‘leave-form.pdf, ‘expense-claim-form.pdf’, an so on.

    Thanks for the update.

    > cannot disable attachments because of the way we use Buddypress Docs –

I wasn’t asking you to turn them off forever, just for a moment to test whether they were indeed the bottleneck. But from your other comments, it sounds like you’ve narrowed it down.

You can follow https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-docs/issues/422 and the commonsinabox.org thread for updates on this issue.

Understood. With attachments disabled it flys!
