W/static front page enabled, how do I add nav for my blog?

If I have selected one page (for example “Welcome” or “About me”) as my static front page, how do I access my blog and add it as a navigation option on my page nav bar? Is there an altenative to simply adding categories widget to get access to my blog entries? I can handle some html coding, and I’m not afraid of going into my theme pages or CSS, but I am not sure how to do it. Please help. Many people I help want this and I am at a loss.
