Multilingual site problem

Having a bilingual site. On secondary language (English in this case) multilingual plugin keep inserting EN tag into the download link which, for result, give 404 error when click to download.
Primary language link – https://www.domain.com/download/file.zip works fine
Secondary language – https://www.domain.com/en/download/file.zip give bad link
I have tried multiple ways to solve this but no success.
