• I just imported my posts from typepad to my new WP blog. When I tried formatting or editing the old imported posts the WP default editing interface worked just fine.

I also just installed the wysiwyg plugin. Now, when I summon an old post there are no paragraph tags. Is there any way to deal with this & work around it or change the default behavior.

The paragraph tags were definitely there when the posts resided at Typepad. I don’t know what might’ve happened during the import to TP. But it will be a royal pain in the ass to have to reformat any old posts.

I guess I could turn off the wysiwyg editor whenever I’m editing old posts…

In addition, I have the spellchecker plugin installed as well. I just used it for the first time with the wysiwyg editor. After spending 10 mins. reintroducing paragraph marks to the post, I then went through the spellcheck process. After saving the post, when it displayed–all the paragraph marks were gone again! I hoped that by using the browser Back button I might get back to the formatted version, but no dice.

What in tarnation is going on? Do I have to dump the wysiwyg editor? Also, does anyone know if there’s a way to change any of the default settings for the TinyMCE editor interface (font size, font display, etc.)?

Look in Options/Writing and make sure that “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” is checked.

    Yes, that setting is checked.

I also just noticed that when I switch from rich text to html mode & make changes to the text formatting & then click Update–essentially nothing happens & the post reverts back to what it was before I edited anything.

Do you think perhaps I have bug or a plugin file installed in the wrong folder location that’s causing these issues?

Possibly. Try contacting the plugin’s developer.
