  • I was once looking for a better wysisyg editor. I even purchased one (WysiwygPro by ViziMetrics). But I soon realized that the best option is not to use an editor at all.

Once you get used to WP’s html editor you’ll wonder why you ever used a wysiwyg editor.

Do yourself a favor and drop wysiwyg like a piece of used dental floss.

My problem is that I’m trying to create a site that can used by people who are a bit html-phobic. I prefer the html editor myself, but I need to keep these other people in mind.

    what is the ‘Strange bug’?

I suggest you can switch to Desktop based blog editors.
Qumana is a free desktop based editor and its pretty easy to publish posts without logging into wordpress.

    Else you can try
writely – write content and publish to any blogs.

If you don’t have writely, try Zohowriter.

Tiny MCE screwed up my “Write post page!”
How to get it back in the original WP state??

    Venukb,
I’ve tried your suggestions and I think that the Zohowriter is a very interesting idea as it is the only one of the three that does tables pretty well.

I still think that there must be a more integrated way of doing this.

    Thanks

ronsrace if you go into Admin and under “user” select “your profile” then at the bottom of the screen just un check the box “Use the visual rich editor when writing” this will take you back to original WP writepage.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. ??

I mean it’s not like you’re having to constantly use advanced HTML in your posts and any basic HTML you need is easily generated via the quicktag buttons. ??

Well, for the not so HTML-savvy, I love this one:

Just be sure to turn off the ‘Use visual rich editor when writing’ option under your ‘Users’ admin panel. =)

@jossmer: thx, but I still have the WP editor in HTML mode!
How to change it back to “normal” mode??
