X Nearby Locations

  • How can I put a Nearby Locations section on the bottom of some (not all) location’s (permalinks) landing pages? It should include the store name and address info, open hours, and distance away.

    Here’s some examples of nearby locations on store locators.

    Question #1:
    Can I limit nearby stores via custom text metadata fields in the store locations?
    – NOT specific locations by text field (ie. Not Pharmacies, just grocery shopping, or just car dealers)
    – not by categories since I’m not using this option

    Question #2:
    Also, how can I limit it to X nearby locations .. and max X distance away?

    I think this would be a helpful feature for others in the upcoming release and/or a customization page in the documentation.

  • Hi there,

    Unfortunately this feature is not included in the plugin. The individual store pages do have, however, a template you can customize, so if you would like to include nearby stores here, you would have to create a custom solution yourself.

    You can always get some inspiration on how to retrieve nearby locations from a given point if you check the SQL query that is done when searching through the store locator. Go check the wpsl_sql filter for more info.

    I will pass your suggestion on to the dev team for their consideration, though ??
