    Hello there,

I’ve a day of evaluating all the options that seemed never ending, after this video https://youtu.be/MVNjGAiu2bg, I’m so happy to find you. I’ve not used an SEO plugin before, I’m a beginner. I just have a few quick questions:

Q1. Language — My Site Language is German, but my language (user) is English in the WordPress Dashboard. Is there anything I need to watch out for?

Q2. The Events Calendar — I’m using TEC, and I see on 2023-09-18 you integrated with it! Is there anything I need to be aware of or do in particular, do you perhaps have a specific URL I can follow?

Q3. WattsApp (and Instagram) — If I setup Slim SEO and share a website link to a page or an event on WattsApp, will the page (or event) title and the feature image be nicely embedded, and automatically?

Q4. Google Analytics (and opt out) — Just to be sure: I understand Slim can help me add G4A to my website. But am I correct I’ll still need to ensure I add a plugin for Cookie Consent, and if so, then how will Slim know to stop sending data to Google if someone opts out? Or have I misunderstood how this works?

Q4. Google Search Results — Does Slim SEO help me to structure how I look in a google search result? Basically, exactly what you have done with your search result here (screenshot). below. Just as simple as that. Or… is this more Google Search Console and not your plugin?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to using your plugin.

    Hi @michellepace

Glad that you found our plugin. I’m happy to answer your questions:

Q1. Language – No problems at all. The language in the dashboard doesn’t affect the SEO on the front end. And the plugin works well with all languages. If you use a multilingual plugin like WPML or Polylang, TranslatePress, it also works well.

Q2. The Events Calendar – Yes, Slim SEO supports well for this plugin. The integration tells Slim SEO not to parse TEC’s shortcodes and blocks when auto generating meta description to avoid any breaks of layouts.

Q3. WattsApp (and Instagram) – Slim SEO adds Open Graph tags to the website which are supported by these platforms to show titles and thumbnails when sharing. You probably don’t need to do anything, as the plugin auto does that for you.

Q4. Google Analytics (and opt out) – Slim SEO has a Code area where you can add your GA code to the website. Please note that GA is not about Cookie Consent, so you still need a service/a plugin to handle the Cookie Consent for you. If you need to add a snippet for a Cookie Consent service, then you can use Slim SEO to insert code as well. The way the Cookie Consent handles sending/opting for GA totally depends how it is implemented and is out of the scope of Slim SEO.

Q4. Google Search Results – Well, it’s hard to conclude on this. All SEO plugins only help you optimize for search engines and provide data for them. No plugins can guarantee how the website will look like on the search engines. What Slim SEO does is providing a meta title and meta description and other meta tags + schemas to Google (that’s what you see in the screenshot). But other things like site links (like the sub-2 links) are generated by Google.

In addition to that, we also have Slim SEO Schema, which is a premium plugin that provide **more details** to Google via structured data, that **might** help Google displaying websites better on result pages (such as price, review, site title, etc.). But in the end, everything are just info that we send to Google and Google will decide how to show them.

    Hi @rilwis

thank you for your detailed reply, it is very helpful. Just one last question, for the below do you perhaps have a documentation link that details how to potentially add this code?

If you need to add a snippet for a Cookie Consent service, then you can use Slim SEO to insert code as well.?

    Thank you

Yes, Slim SEO has a Code section where you can insert any code in the header or footer. Please follow this docs for details.
