XAMPP and mod_rewrite

  • I recently installed wordpress localy using XAMPP. It was working fine untill I enabled permalinks. Now whenever I click on a link I get an error 404 message.
    XAMPP has mod_rewrite disabled by defult. Knowing this I folowed the directions on the XAMPP site and enabled it. I thought this would fix the problem however I still get 404s. Does anyone have any sugestions?
