• Old thread was too annoying w/ BB Press (hard to see what’s new and such).

xGallery is a Multimedia solution for WP. It’s exactly what it should be, a plugin, plug it in and it works ??

You can view it in action here: https://www.evilcoder.net/album.php

There’s also an administration backend via the WP Admin

! New home for xGallery !
https://www.evilcoder.net/ (The sites a WIP so if it ever gets flakey check https://www.davidcramer.net/)

You can download 0.6 from any of the following: https://www.davidcramer.net/xgallery.zip
    https://www.evilcoder.net/xgallery.zip

    // 0.6 //

Reworked the GD functions, removed the original code (wasn’t mine).
No more borders/drop shadow etc… was more hassle then it’s worth.
Fixed many file permission problems, tags that weren’t closed etc.
The example-photos.php is not made to work with the default WP 1.5 theme
Fixed a bug that would cause it to only generate 1 thumbnail instead of the whole batch
    — Look for a file manager and a slideshow in the next version!

  • 2 questions:

    1) does this allow easy integration into a theme to match the site design
    2) does this plugin enable images in posts to be easily added (if at all)?

Its pretty easy integration (I think), but no it doesnt let you easily add an image to a post.

ok, i’m having some trouble. in the README, you say:

    2) Go to your administration panel, click options, and then xGallery. Modify these if you need to.

this is directly after just unzipping the directory into the plugins directory. unless i ‘activate’ the xgallery plugin, the xGallery link doesn’t show up in the ‘Options’ screen. and when i do activate it and then try to get to the options, i get a 404 error.

    Two problems I can find:

I use dynamic web hosting in apache2 on Linux and this means that every site under /var/www gets its dns name as a dir. In my case for now https://www.bs.jabber.no is the host name. When I set the path in the options to /bilder/ and I do an echo from the php file on the dir variable I get the following /var/www/localhost/htdocs/bilder/, but it should have been /var/www/www.bs.jabber.no/htdcos/bilder. I don’t know how you get the dir, but an alternative for absolute path in the settings could solve this (in my case anyways). A little trck with a symbolic link worked as a workaround for me for now.

Also it seems that there might be a problem with international characters in the file names. Check out this image here:
    https://www.bs.jabber.no/xgallery.php?x=LDEsRGFnZHL4bS5qcGc%3D

The name of the picture is Dagdr??m.jpg.

    Any way to resolve this?
