• Hello hello

I want one link on my site (well, so far at least) to open in another window/tab and so clicked that option when creating the link, thus setting the target attribute to “_blank”.

Of course this doesn’t validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict which is the DOCTYPE in my template. Googling a bit I found that one can replace the DOCTYPE 1.0 Strict code by a 1.0 Transitional.

Well, my site isn’t the most advanced, I admit, but having now set DOCTYPE to XHTML 1.0 Transitional it validates perfectly.

I am wondering, though – and I should add that I have read and tried to understand this Wikipedia article – if there is anything drawback that I should know about? For instance, will 1.0 Transitional work in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE 6+?

    Thanks for your help
    /p
