Migrating over from the infamous Yoast. I’m testing your plugin on a development site (local PC) before migrating to live site. Ran the XML but getting message the XML file is missing style info. Probably missing something simple. (below is the first couple of lines from the XML generation. BTW, I thing your plugin is simple, straigh forward. Looks great. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the compliments ??

And you’re right, the style-sheet is missing. I’ve explained this reason in the SEO Tip of the Update of version 2.3.7.

I’ll quote:
- Nowadays, sitemaps are a tool for Search Engines, not for users. This means that styling the sitemap just adds unnecessary resource usage.
- Having a sitemap available will make sure your content is reached out faster to the Search Index since the Search Engines know what has changed and when. So be sure to enable the lastmod feature if you frequently post new posts or pages!
- No sitemap? Not a problem! Search Engines will just follow links within your site to find new pages. This default behavior will also continue with a sitemap available, so no pages are missed even if your sitemap has reached its limit.
However, I was thinking about putting some style info into it to eliminate confusion, as I get this question more often.
So I might put it in there in the future, but I need some time to think about it before I plan on doing so.

To test to see if the sitemap is valid, please go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/sitemap-list?hl=en&siteUrl=https://example.com (you do need to register the Property), select the sitemap and hit the test button on the top right.

Sybre, thanks for your prompt response. Support is a great thing.

I did read your comment, but just want to verify proper configuration and operation before I implement your plugin on live site. I total agree with your strategy. I will validate it via Google.

Keep up the good work. I’m sure there will be more follower’s soon.
