xml import incomplete

  • Hi, can I backup my database using a db plugin, and test this offline (restoring using phpMyAdmin)? I tried it, but
    sometimes I receive errors, or the page tries to load like online (with the “online” url). Which fields I had
    to change when restoring it to test offline? (using Xampp or Mowes).

    Another problem I’m having is to use the import/export (to xml/wxr) feature. I can backup, but when I restore it,
    it only backs up old posts (just until July 2008)… It’s too strange…

  • i have the same problem too… i exported from a wordpress blog on an old server, and tried to import onto a wordpress blog on a new host, and only really old posts from 3 years ago were restored ??
