XML Import Problem

  • I installed wordpress on my own server, but it doesnt read the xml file.

    I have got an error message:

    Sorry, there has been an error.
    The uploaded file could not be moved to /export/***/user/***/*/*/*/wp-content.

    Could anyone help me please?

  • This is a permissions problem…I think!
    Give “write” permissions on the folder…

    hey there…..could you please advise where you do the above suggestion–to give ‘write’ permissions on the folder.
    which folder and where in your cpanel?
    i’m having the same problem and my host confirmed that my install of wp 2.6 is fine, server is fine..but i’m still unable to import my xml file of my wordpress.com blog….trying to put content of the wp.com blog to the wp.org one.

    Change File Permissions of wp-content to 777.

    Remember it is NOT changing File Permissions of wp-content/uploads.
