    Hi,

I am having a major issue with my sitemap. I just noticed that my sitemap is a blank page. I have checked Yoast guidelines and I don’t have any static file, theme or plugin conflict. This is my link: https://deninamartin.com/sitemap_index.xml

I have tried everything and the plugin still cannot generate sitemap_index.xml
However, I have no issues with https://deninamartin.com/page-sitemap.xml

I will appreciate any help with this issue.

    Roslan D.

I have the same problem: https://www.masseriapapone.com/sitemap_index.xml

chrome inspector gives me this error message: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/css/index-sitemap.xsl

@roslandfx The 500 error you receive on your sitemap can be caused by a number of issues, including the permalinks or rewrite rules. We would first recommend to try resetting the permalink structure in WordPress which can be done by performing the following steps:

    Login to WordPress
    Go to Settings>Permalinks
Clicking ‘Save Changes’ without making any modifications
We also have additional information regarding the sitemap files creating an error here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/my-sitemap-index-is-giving-a-404-error-what-should-i-do/

If you continue to receive the error after resetting the permalinks, we would then also suggest adding a set of rewrite rules to your server and we have a guide on adding these for an Apache servers at https://kb.yoast.com/kb/xml-sitemaps-apache/ and for Nginx servers at https://kb.yoast.com/kb/xml-sitemaps-nginx/

Also, as a 500 internal server error means that your server cannot output the file as it was requested, this error typically relates to the server configuration. As being able to say the exact reason why a 500 error is generated requires being able to review the server’s error log files, we recommend you contact your hosting provider and ask them to review the server settings that might cause the 500 errors.

The sitemap_index.xml isn’t showing a blank page but showing the 500 internal server error. Therefore, we’d like you to please perform a conflict check first. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:
    1. Check for conflicts.
    2. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.
If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.
