XML sitemap appears to be HTML?

  • The same thing is happening to me. It is also giving error in Google Search Console.

    They have a help article to fix the Search Console error, but I don’t want to just fix the error. I want my browser to show me the XML. They might seem like the same issue but they’re not.

    Hi @joshmacd,

    Please send us a full-page screenshot of where you are seeing the sitemap as being HTML. In addition, did you get any errors in Google Search Console about this sitemap?

    @maiconalv, your issue seems to be different. Please open a new ticket and make sure to include a screenshot from Google Search Console where it shows the error message.

    No, I’m not submitting to Google Search Console – I’m looking at the link in my browser.

    Right click > Inspect… it’s all HTML.

    @joshmacd The HTML you see is the result of the stylesheet, the sitemap itself is in XML as you can see by viewing the source code: https://pasteboard.co/IDltKxd.png
