XML Sitemap Generation

  • I have a client that has 20,000+ pages in their sitemap. With that said, I would like to know if it’s possible to schedule the sitemap to regenerate once a week instead of every time they add new product (1-50 daily). This will cut down on the resources that it takes to generate the sitemap.

    Sorry if this sounds ridiculous, but I am working to improve every aspect of their websites resource usage. If this is possible and I am simply missing a setting please let me know. Or, if this is a “Pro” option, I’d like to know that also.

  • Hi mvincik,

    I’d suggest using the dynamic sitemap option instead of static sitemaps here, then it won’t need to be regenerated on a schedule. For over 20,000+ pages, you also might consider using indexed sitemaps with pagination as well, depending on how long these pages are taking to generate.
