XML wont import

  • I am trying to import a wordpress.com XML file into a new installation of self hosted wordpress.

    Normally it shows the process of what is done but now it just is a blank screen, never showing complete, but the browser window stops. Then when you check it has installed some images and that is it. When I tried to break the export down by pages and posts it doesn’t import the images it just points them in the post to the wordpress.com site it came from.

    The file is not large it is only 429 KB.

    I had a moderator in the wordpress.com test the file and she was able to import it with no problem. She recommended calling my host to have them check the error logs and they said they don’t show any errors on their end.

    Can you help me figure out how to do this import without it stopping?
