• Hi there,

I’m trying to get xmlrpc working so that I can blog from flickr.

I have tried the newest version 1.5.1.3 as well as the beta version in the cvs with no change.

    When I browse to xmlrpc.php I get a 406 Not Acceptable error:
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /xmlrpc.php could not be found on this server.

Is there a library or version of php that the server requires that could cause this?

    Thanks,
    Sean

  • I am having problems as well. Extremely irritating as posting from Flickr to my blog worked on 9 September and didn’t work this morning. I upgraded to 1.5.2 and it still won’t work.

Has anyone yet really solved this problem, I’ve tried all the fixes above without success. Now I’m trying to get the blog integration working in the beta version of Flock browser which also calls on xmlrpc.php and am getting similar problems. Whcih leads me to think it’s a definite WordPress problem, but alas so far one with out a solution.

I found the problem with mine was that my webhost was limiting access because of bandwidth drain due to spam/porn access to subdomain stats. I have since installed Bad Behaviour hoping this limits the problem and my host can turn access back on.

Likewise I found my host was blocking xmlrpc access due to the fact that the majority of users on the system have not updated to the latest versions of their php scripts and thus leaving the whole server open to hacking. You can read my big long rant about it here:

I also encounter similar problem while trying to use flock or flickr blogging.
For example, while configure flickr blogging, I input https://www.wolfgang.tw/xmlrpc.php as the API Endpoint, but the page shown “The endpoint you entered was not correct.” I’m very sure the path are correct, and I use the WP 2.0.3. Could anyone help me to resolve this. Thanks in advanced.

Try the suggestion someone gave me there; just a few lines inserted into the htaccess file fixed everything for me.
