After the latest WooCommerce updated (6.8.2) our cart page will not work with Yoast SEO (19.6) – the message “WordPress has encountered a critical error” is displayed and the formatting of the cart page is distorted. We’ve had to disable the plugin for customers to be able to checkout. Any update or work around would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hey @economycandy,

Thank you for using Yoast SEO and for reaching out!

We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing issues. However, I’m not able to replicate any cart-related issues running the latest WooCommerce and Yoast SEO.

Are you able to have a look at the server error logs to see what exactly is logged as a PHP error on the time you experienced the “? If you don’t know how to access the logs (or you don’t have access), please reach out to your web host.

    Absolutely! From our host:

“PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /nas/content/live/economycandy/wp-includes/meta.php on line 1190, referer: https://economycandy.com/cart/
This means that some plugin is either plain using too much memory OR there is a memory leak in the new update”

We were able to isolate the issue as being related to Yoast SEO by disabling all plugins and turning them back on one by one.

Let me know what we can do to get everything working harmoniously again!

    Thank you!

Hello @economycandy, I’m sorry it took a while to get back to you on this. We have Yoast SEO v19.6.1 now. Does the issue persist with that version?

Hi Maybellyne! Yes, the issue has been resolved with the new version. Thank you!

    Hi,

Unfortunately this issue is back again, once again after a WooCommerce update from 6.8.2 → 6.9.1. Hoping there is once again a speedy solution to this issue.

    Thank you!

    Hello @economycandy,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! I have a quick question. Are you using a page builder on your site? Like Divi or something similar?

    No, we’re not

    Hey @economycandy,

    Thank you for your reply.

If the same fatal error (too less PHP memory) occurred after installing the latest WooCommerce update, please check with your web host to see what specific PHP processes were taking too long or too many resources. Do this by looking at the usage logs at the timestamp of the fatal error to see what was running.

Thanks Jeroen. After downloading the logs to send I noticed there had been an update from 19.7 to 19.7.1 – looks like 19.7.1 fixed the issue. Thanks for your help!

Happy to hear that! I’ll mark the topic as resolved now.

    Have a great day.
