• Hello,
I am using the twenty-sixteen theme for a private staff only website for a public library. I’ve set up a YADA wiki TOC page and I’ve installed the TOC widget on the sidebar. On most of the site it displays great, but on all my BBPress forum pages it displays the short link code for the wiki links, and not the links themselves:

    Table of Contents

    [yadawiki link=”Staff Schedules” show=””]
    [yadawiki link=”Policies” show=””]
    [yadawiki link=”In-house forms” show=””]
    [yadawiki link=”Procedures” show=””]
    [yadawiki link=”HR Stuff” show=””]
    [yadawiki link=”FYI” show=””]
    [yadawiki link=”YS Documents” show=””]

    Hi eemore,

    website for a public library

Awesome. I worked at a public library for several years and my wife is the director at a small one now.

I’ll set up a test site with the twenty-sixteen theme and BBPress and try it out. If I don’t see the issue right off I may need some details on how to duplicate. I’ll post back here to let you know.

    Best,

    Hi eemore,

It appears that bbpress does not render shortcodes for security and readability reasons.

I played around a bit with it and if you want to experiment, it seems like this old plugin might allow shortcodes to work in topics (but not in the forum descriptions or forum page sidebars): https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/bbpress-do-short-codes/

That plugin may not be a happy solution, as it looks like bbpress might strip off styling as well.

    Best,

    David

Thanks, David. With that information I might be able to find another solution. When I search plugins for bbpress and shortcodes, it seems that there are other possible answers. I’ll post again if I find one that works.

    E.
