• We need a listserv functionality that ALSO posts the emails it receives to a forum.

This is to replicate Yahoo Groups functionality WHICH IS CLOSING on Dec 14th.

MANY people will need this functioanality.

The first Plugin author to provide this will find a large audience for it.

  • Same here, subscribing to this as well…

    Need… I need… I need…

I need some way to snarfle down all the content, images, message threads… from a yahoo-groups list… and import it into a (preferably better and more usable functionality forum plugin.

Here is an example of the list I need to move.
    https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/KentRanger26Boats/info

Here is where it needs to go.

I’m willing to get whatever forum plugin that will work with it.. but I can’t do a paid plugin, as this is a free, volunteer, no money, service to a small group of old sailboat owners that would rather sail then send money to support a site they only go to when they are taking on water, often literally! ??

    Is Simple:Press Forums any good?

If you want to backup the posts, photos & files from this group you can use a program called PG Offline.

It has a 14 day free trial which will give ample time to download this group.

    Thanks evildrome!

    Hi @evildrome,

I see I can export, Can I import things into BBPress? That is what I installed

I don’t see anything on that on your instructions page.

    Thanks!

    Hi Bruce,

I’m doing it as a service. I make a local WP install and load the group into that and then export the board which you can import.

The users come as a CSV file which can be imported also.

    Best to contact me directly:

    Cheers,

    Wilson.

Hey. Any new on this? It would be good to have an option to import database from Yahoo Groups to some sort of forum, and allow the same activity for all users as it was in Yahoo groups, to interact by email.

Anyone? Please update if you find something.

    Cheers!
