• Hey guys,
I searched the internet but couldn’t find a solution… How do you set the product image for a product post in the YAK gallery add-on correctly? It isn’t shown in the tutorial video on the a filly ate it website. I set the featured image, but on my shop site (with my [yak_gallery tag=”yak_gallery1″ lightbox=”off” size=”thumbnail” cols=”4″]) there are no pictures in the product table. Other than that, the product information is displayed correctly.

Maybe some incompatibility with WP 3.5? I don’t have to have any lightbox installed, do I? Is it maybe just me doing something wrong on the post edit page?

I am stuck and I can’t find enough documentation out there (the YAK PDF doesn’t help either!). Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Julian

I found out that if I upload an image as a featured images on the product post page, the image shows in the gallery. But it doesn’t show if I just select one in the media gallery that was already uploaded. Is that because of the new media gallery in WordPress 3.5?!

I’ve tested with 3.5 and it works as expected. I uploaded images in the Media Library, and then just attached them to specific posts:

The gallery displays the images properly:

Is that the same thing you’re doing?

Yes, what you describe works perfectly. But do I always have to upload a picture to the post? The website I design is an artist’s homepage. All the artwork images are already in the wordpress media gallery (uploaded to other pages). So I don’t want to have duplicates in the system. I mean, it works now if I just upload pictures to the post, so it’s not a big issue anymore, but it would be great if I could just select the featured image that is already inside the WordPress workspace.

And I want to take the opportunity to thank you for this great plugin! It is very versatile and all that for a very low price!

At the moment, yes you would have to upload a picture to the post. But for the next release, I’m going to add a way to add a custom field with the link to the image to use for the gallery.
