Yearly Archives not showing

I’m trying to have a small set of links which lead to yearly archives, however, when taken to the url, the default posts show up, not the correct year. If I add the month to the url, it works as a monthly archive, but the yearly url just shows the default posts. Any ideas how to address this problem?
